The very first in Ukraine study session for those willing to become bicycle guides for tourist groups was initiated in Beregovo Tourist Information Centre on 24 November.
As Jozsef Tarpai, Director of Ukrainian-Hungarian Regional Development Centre, said the participation is completely free of charge. The session will last through April 2013 and includes both theoretical and practical components.
Istvan Molnar, representative of Szabolcs-Szatmar-Bereg Regional Association of Friends of Nature (Hungary), presented experience and best practices in this tourism sector which is quite new for Ukraine. In particular, he explained how they plan and carry out bicycle trips within their own country and abroad (to Romania, for example). Ukrainian-Hungarian Regional Development Centre is to hold a study session for the bicycle tourism guides. The study session is organized in the frame of cross-border project titled “Integrated network of bicycle touring routes along the Ukrainian-Hungarian border”, which is co-financed by ENPI CBC Hungary-Slovakia-Romania-Ukraine 2007-2013 Program.
Starting date of the session: November 2012.
Deadline for submitting applications: 31 October 2012.

The first in Ukraine international bicycle pilgrimage started on 5 October from Transcarpathia and lasted two days. It was organized in the frame of the ENPI CBC Hungary-Slovakia-Romania-Ukraine 2007-2013 financed project.
The cyclists travelled from Berehovo to Mariapocs (Hungary), a shrine which is well known all over Europe. This idea belonged to Jozsef Torpoi, director of Ukrainian-Hungarian Regional Development Centre.
The international bicycle trip was available to everyone who had valid international passport with a visa and light-reflecting clothes. Continue reading
From 28 to 30 September a group of Hungarian experts visited Transcarpathia and studied its tourism capacities. The guests were invited by Ukrainian-Hungarian Regional Development Centre in the frame of project titled “Integrated network of bicycle touring routes along the Ukrainian-Hungarian border” (HUSKROUA/1001/012).
