Transcarpathian craftsmen visited the neighbouring county of Hungary at the end of November in order to become familiar with the works of the local craftsmen and share their experiences. The participants included such masters, who develop and pass the special secrets of folk arts on to the future generation: coopers, potters, embroiderers, weavers, souvenir makers.

The event was realized within the framework of the project titled „Promotion of folk-arts and handicrafts in Carpathian Euroregion HUSKROUA/1101/163”. Its aim is to maintain and develop the ancient crafts and traditions in the border region. Continue reading →

The second practical training within the project titled „Regional cooperation in V4EaP countries: experience exchange and best practices” supported by the International Visegrad Fund took place in the picturesque Prague. At the invitation of the Czech Fundraising Centre 20 newly qualified project writers and the members of the local project management took off on 14th November 2013 by bus.

After a tiring travelling day a rich and meaningful program was waiting for the Ukrainian group, thanks to the partner organization’s cooperation. The first organization to be visited was the Via Foundation; first Marketa Kunesova project manager spoke about its establishment and operation. The goal of the Via Foundation is to help those people, who have taken the initiative to create positive change in their communities. The state power policy of the Communist decades did not allow people to use individual initiatives. Instead, they endeavoured to annihilate the thoughts in people’s mind, that a person can have positive effect on the community in which he/she lives. Continue reading →

The Ukrainian-Hungarian Development Centre, the Slovak Forum Information Cenre, the Czech Fundraising Centre and the Hungarian RECIK Foundation training within the project titled „Regional cooperation in V4EaP countries: experience exchange and best practices” with the support of the Visegrád Fund.

20 people are involved in the training from Transcarpathia, who can learn about tender writing, project management, human resource planning and other important topics, which are essential to the successful implementation of projects. After the preperation for the professional practice since April 2013, the participants could gain insight into the practical implementation of a project within the study tour to Košice. The Ukrainian-Hungarian Regional Development Centre and the Szabolcs-Szatmar-Bereg County Village Tourist Association have started the project titled „Promotion of folk-arts and handicrafts in Carpathian Euroregion HUSKROUA/1101/163” in August 2013. Its implementation is supported by the European Union within the Hungary-Slovakia-Ukraine Romania in 2007-2013 ENPI program.

The partner organizations organized a folk-arts and handicrafts fair as part of the 50th anniversary of the annual cross-border festival “Bereg Fest” as the opening event of the project. More than forty craftsmen took part on the fair from Transcarpathian and Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg county. The visitors could try out to throw on a potter’s wheel, to make a barrel, to stitch beads, to shoot arrows, to weave, they could taste honeycake and see the creations of the vegetable and fruit sculpture, as well the leather goods maker.
