A two-day training under the name of Building cross-border tourism network „Carpathian tourist route – Modeling the Transcarpathian tourism development” began in Uzhhorod. The training was organized by the Transcarpathian Regional Council and implemented by the „Transcarpathia” Regional Development ans Cross-border Cooperation Agency. The participants involves tourism experts, the satff of development agencies and municipalities. The aim of the event is to define the mechanism of a possible cross-border tourism network.
Oleksandr Koval, the expert os project titled „Transcarpathian Tourist Route – 2” delivered a speech about the development prospects of the Ukrainian, Hungarian, Romanian and Slovak border region, who believes that it is necessary to develop a long-term development strategy for the region. „We need to think 5 years in advance. Planning is necessary, but the development of suitable infrastructural conditions is still the most important task. Without appropriate road conditions it is impossible to allure the tourist into Transcarpathia. We have to compete, and we need to know how. Lviv town is a good example, which has attracted tourists for several years, treating tourism sector as preferred” – said Oleksandr Koval. Continue reading
